Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine
Traditional Chinese Medicine is a comprehensive medical system originally developed in China over two thousand years ago and currently practiced all over the world. Like Homoeopathy it is a natural and holistic medicine that views illness as a state of imbalance within the body and acknowledges the role unresolved emotions have on disrupting physical and mental health. Acupuncture uses very fine, sterile, single use needles to activate specific points along the meridians (channels) of the body to restore the correct flow of energy. Once balance is restored the body can heal. Acupuncture is also used to help prevent illness and maintain optimal health by detecting and treating energy imbalances before they lead to disease.
Japanese and Esoteric Acupuncture
As well as Chinese Acupuncture Max is also trained in Japanese styles of Acupuncture (Manaka) which are virtually painless and can involve techniques without the use of needles. Most patients find the treatments deeply relaxing.
Esoteric Acupuncture focuses on the utilisation of Traditional Chinese Acupuncture Theory, the Hindu Chakra System, Sacred Geometry and the Qabbalistic Tree of Life. The main principle of Esoteric Acupuncture is to balance the seven energy centres (chakras) of the body allowing the gentle release of suppressed emotional Qi and a shift in awareness that makes positive change easier to occur. Max uses Esoteric Acupuncture to help people make positive changes towards greater health and happiness. This is a crucial step in being able to move from a state of disharmony and imbalance to a state of health and growth.
“The power of acupuncture is to harmonise and strengthen the body systems before a disease stage, but the power of esoteric acupuncture is to work with consciousness and strengthen the centre which consists of the various levels of your heart” – Dr Mikio Sankey
