Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine

Traditional Chinese Medicine is a comprehensive medical system originally developed in China over two thousand years ago and currently practiced all over the world. Like Homoeopathy it is a natural and holistic medicine that views illness as a state of imbalance within the body. Acupuncture uses very fine, sterile, single use needles to activate specific points along the meridians (channels) of the body to restore the correct flow of energy. Once balance is restored the body can heal.

Qi is a term used in Chinese Medicine that is translated into English as energy but it can also be understood as information. A type of software system that directs the bodies functions which acupuncture can access and reprogram. Acupuncture is also used to help prevent illness and maintain optimal health by detecting and treating Qi imbalances before they lead to disease.

As well as Traditional Chinese acupuncture, Max is also trained in many Japanese styles of acupuncture which are virtually painless and can involve techniques without the use of needles. These include techniques developed by the Japanese master innovators Dr. Manaka and Sensei Kawai. Most patients find the treatments deeply relaxing.
